WP 12 Dissemination of the results and the procedure

Summarisation of the results of research and dissemination of the same in the paper industry including converters, wholesale dealers and purchasers.

The project results will make available a standardised possibility of conducting panel-based softness evaluation which facilitates the comparability of the rankings that are determined in practice.

Furthermore, new findings regarding human sensations of softness will be explained from a neuropsychological viewpoint, and the potential of a medical device to duplicate this human ability will be determined.

Proceeding from this work, the metrological imitation of this human sensation will be analysed using unconventional measuring procedures.

Relationships shall be developed between basic paper properties, manufacturing conditions and the impact on softness.

The results of the project will be compiled and published in spreadsheets, descriptions of methods and models and recommendations for enhancing softness. The results will be published both in the form of a final project report and in symposia, workshops and in the trade press.
